So far she has had 11 puppies

All the puppies are living. 6 males and 5 females. Healthy strong boerboel puppies. These puppies have some good coloring so far many of them look like they will be the dark reds with heavy black mask. The puppies have good drive so far. Its funny to see them driving to the teat. They push hard. With so many puppies I must begin to prepare for bottle feeding. There are a couple of nice thick robust males that I can see already. Stay tuned to my boerboel puppies for sale page for pictures and updates on this litter

There is nothing comforting like owning a boerboel

Dogs in general are therefor us. When I have a bad day the dogs cheer me up. My dogs are there for me the same way that I am there for them. I always say that all a dog has is it owner. We are the dogs world. Having a boerboel dog is a great responsibility.

Boerboel dogs are very in tune to the owner. It is said that the boerboel has a six sense giving it the ability to feel what the owner feels. From my observation boerboel dogs read and study human body language. They can feel the air and get a sense of a situation. The Boerboel is a thinker and great decision maker. This is the ultimate dog to rely on once a good human dog bond has been formed.

It take a serious dog person to really appreciate owning a boerboel.People I talk to who own boerboels are in love with the breed. It is no wonder this breed is highly sought after. The are a joy to own.

Sabt Boerboel appraisal Ohio

What is a boerboel and how did I get to owning a boerboel. My love of dogs began with bear and evolved into a love for the South African Boerboel, the ultimate dogs protector and companion. The South African Boerboel was established as a pure breed in the early 1980s. Boerboel dogs have been around for centuries in South Africa.

I found the South African Boerboel in my search for a large guardian breed who would be an impressive deterrent yet lacking in aggression. I needed a dog who I could count on to defend and protect my family and home, but Who did not want to bite chase or harm anyone or thing who was not a threat. My new dog could not be the type that would bark like crazy or bark for any reason unless there was a threat. Living in the city I did not want a dog who viewed people in general as a threat. I needed a dog who could make good decisions in determining who is friend and who is foe.

In my research I found the boerboel breed. This breed had all of the qualities that I was looking for in a dog. The thing that really attracted me to the breed other than the natural beauty that the posses was the fact the the are well know to be very intelligent highly sophisticated great protectors of the family.

After I got my first boerboel I wanted more. After months and months of research I finally found a dogs who I thought had immaculate bloodlines. This female I selected had genes I thought could produce world class South African Boerboel specimens. This was my female Dopper boerboel Greit. Her bloodline goes back to the most historic boerboel in the breed. I felt like I could not lose with a breeding female of this caliber.

The Return Of Bear

Soon as we my mom met Mrs. Westbrook she had to tell her about Bear. Mrs Westbrook looked shocked to find out we had a puppy. She told my mom that she thought the puppy had run away. We quickly changed our story from "the Westbrooks gave us the dog" to "we found the dog wondering across the street. "
Bear could not live with my cousin any longer because we obtained the dog under false pretenses. When his mom found out we had to immediately return Bear. So he came back to us. We were supposed to be returning the dog to the Westbrooks. We loved Bear so much that we would always say that the Westbrooks were never home when we went to return the dog. My mom liked him so we ended up keeping him. to be continued http://www.superbreeds.biz

the fuzzy puppy Bear.....

Just as I began to write I heard 4 or 5 shots fired at the Gas Usa. The police have just arrived. The fire truck has arrived. Police are telling people to back away. I am guessing some one is shot in the Gas Usa. Police are looking around. Shooting at the Gas Usa. 2 police cars are there. Ambulance has arrived. Someone shot at the Gas Usa. Victim in route to hospital. I knew I heard some shooting. East Cleveland.

Back to the great story about Bear. My cousin Ike convinced Aunty Ween to take Bear hoome with them. So much for finally getting myself a dog. Life goes on.

I am still about 11 years old and very fascinated with animals. I have all of these animal picture books from the library that I read and look at. I wonder how my cousin is with the dog.

St some point in time I am invited to Jeremy Westbrook's party at the powerhouse. Im' telling my mom I would like to go. She has to drop me off so that she can investigate and make sure we will be o.k.. My mom always was on top of my every move as a kid and even now as an adult. As a youngster I did not get away with much for long.

We pull up to the Westbrook's house and the puppies run out of the garage. "OOOOOOOh! look at the puppies. They are so cute." says mom. "The puppies!!" I thought. It dawns on me that we took the puppy without permission. Even though they were "free" puppies we did not have permission to take the one.

I had to keep my mom from talking to Jeremy's mom about the dog and "everything will be cool" I thought.
When we first knock there was no answer. I say"mom just leave me I'll be ok." And she gives me that look like that says "do I look like a fool". Out comes Jeremy from the front door.

"Is your mother here?" my mother ask Jeremy.

Hopefully my mom won't mention anything about the dog to Mrs Westbrook.

Out walks Mrs Westbrook in the same nano second that thought crossed my mind.

My mom says happily. "Those puppies are so cute!!! How are you? I am Mrs Pittman." to be continued......

The Ohio Boerboel Story

Well Hello Every one I am Jordan Pittman the Boerboel guy. Many people ask me how did I get into breeding South African Boerboels. Or How did I get so involved in breeding dogs. Today I want to set the record straight. I have always had dogs in my life. It goes back to my families country roots. Where dogs were a necessity rather than a luxury.

My first dog was bear. He was a golden retreiver chow mix who me and my cousin Bam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bam_Childress got for free from the Westbrooks in here is East Cleveland.

We went where the Westbrooks were keeping the dogs and knocked at their door. When we knocked about 12 puppies came running from in the garage. No one ever came to the door so we just picked a puppy and put it in our book bag and went home after all they were free right?

When we got home we had to figure out what was our next move. As 11 year old kids we hadn't really thought this out. We came up with the plan to leave the puppy on our porch until it was time for Bam to go home, Then he would sneak the dog in the car without his mom finding out.

Our plan failed and bear was found by my mom on the porch. When my mom saw bear she fell in love with the cute golden puppy. "where did you get him?" my mom asked. "My friend gave him us for free." I said. My mom loved bear immediately. We were busted! What were we going to do with this puppy?

When my aunt Ween arrived she was dead set on us returning the dog. How could people just give kids a dog? she wondered. My aunt and my mom just couldn't get over how cute he was. He
"looks like a furbal, ...he s so cute" my aunt said.

Cousin Ike (Bam's Brother) convinced his mom that he could sell the dogs if nothing else they needed that dog. So they left with Bear.

I bet you are wondering " isn't bear your dog?" Tomorrow I will continue the story and you can find out how we ended up with bear. To be continued........
