Muscle Building Tips for Boerboels and Bullies

Your furry friend deserves the best care, and that includes helping them build and maintain strong, healthy muscles. Whether you have an athletic dog, a working breed, or just want to keep your canine companion in tip-top shape, this blog post is here to guide you on the path to canine muscle building success. Let's dive into these essential tips for unleashing the beast within your four-legged friend!

---

**1. Proper Nutrition**

Just like us, dogs need the right fuel to build and maintain muscles. Ensure your dog's diet includes high-quality protein sources, such as lean meats or a well-balanced commercial dog food that meets their specific needs. Consult your vet for dietary recommendations tailored to your dog's breed and activity level.

---

**2. Exercise and Play**

Regular exercise is key to muscle development. Engage in activities like fetch, agility training, or daily walks that provide both cardiovascular exercise and muscle-building opportunities. For more specific workouts, consider resistance training exercises like weighted backpacks or canine weight vests. Always start slow and consult with a veterinarian before beginning any new exercise regimen.

---

**3. Supplements**

Discuss with your vet whether supplements like glucosamine, omega-3 fatty acids, or muscle-building supplements are suitable for your dog's needs. Supplements can aid in joint health and muscle recovery, especially for active or older dogs.

---

**4. Rest and Recovery**

Muscles need time to repair and grow. Ensure your dog gets plenty of rest between workouts. Overtraining can lead to injury and hinder muscle development. A good night's sleep is just as important for your dog as it is for you!

---

**5. Hydration**

Proper hydration is essential for muscle function and recovery. Make sure your dog has access to fresh water at all times, especially during and after exercise.

---

**6. Consistency is Key**

Consistency is vital in any muscle-building journey. Stick to a routine, whether it's feeding, exercise, or supplements. Regularity will yield better results over time.

---

**7. Monitor Progress**

Keep an eye on your dog's progress. Take photos or measurements to track changes in muscle tone and overall fitness. Adjust their diet and exercise routine as needed to meet their goals.

---

**8. Veterinarian Guidance**

Always consult your veterinarian before starting a new exercise or diet plan for your dog. They can provide tailored advice based on your dog's age, breed, and health status.

---

**Conclusion**

Building and maintaining strong, healthy muscles in your dog is a rewarding journey that leads to a happier and more vibrant life. Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and what works best may vary depending on your dog's breed, age, and activity level. With proper nutrition, exercise, rest, and guidance from your vet, you can help your furry friend unleash their inner beast and enjoy a life filled with vitality and strength.

Boerboel Obesity

Often I hear of people requesting the largest puppy. Let me tell you that is worrying because in the back of my mind I am wondering is this person going to try to grow this puppy as big and fast as possible. Extra size does not add up to a better dog.

Is a one hundred and fifty pound dog large enough. If not how big do you need your Boerboel to be. Let me warn you that this is the best way to ruin your puppy. there are numerous health risk that are associated with dogs being overweight. It almost as bad as it is with people. Actually the statistics mirror those of people. Diabetes osteoarthritis high blood pressure heart disease are ailment just to name a few that obese dogs suffer from.

I have heard of some outrageous things that people do to make the dog feel as if they are loved. you heard it hear first the dogs love is unconditional. there is nothing you can do to make the dog love feel extra love. Including feeding your puppy food that you should not even eat like Macaroni and cheese.

The truth is that your are doing the dog a huge disservice and even could go as far to say that you are shortening the dogs lifespan. It can be a hard pill to swallow but the truth is this type of spoiling that you may apply to your son or daughter is just as counterproductive. Any person who is under the school of thought that only the largest dog will do let me point you in the direction of our latest post on our updated website. Have a look before you decide to over feed.

Matter of fact let me be the one to recommend fasting your dog one day a week. for more in depth information please visit our post dedicated to eliminating canine obesity.

South African Boerboels are living creatures not disposable objects

There is some things that I constantly reminded by people who call my phone looking for South African Boerboel puppies for sale. I get many people who call and wonder what kind of dogs these are what are they good for are they good for guarding. How would you describe the boerboels. These are what I typically here. So Let me spell it out for you all in black and white. South African Boerboel dogs are not for everyone. For one they are big strong and intelligent. One gentlemen said to me I once owned pit bulls and German Shepherds and rottweilers hoe do these dogs compare. Are they better or equal guard dogs to these dogs. I had to tell him that the South African Boerboel mastiff has the best qualities of all those dog breeds wrapped up into one giant athletic mastiff. This dogs is no joke and can be dangerous in the wrong hands. When you are talking about a South African boerboel you are talking about a dog who in Africa defends against some of the most dangerous wild animals in the world. These dogs have the ability to kill a person or small child. These dogs are not for every one. And with that being said my puppies are not for everyone. I think that as a Boerboel breeders we must remember it is our duty to protect the best interest of the breed. We do not want the majestic mastiff of South Africa to come under the same scrutiny that the pitbull American bulldogs Cane Corsos English Mastiffs presa Canaries English Bulldoggs and other Mollosser breeds face. I want to remind all of those interested in our puppies for sale that they are not like a dump truck that you just use then park when you are  finished. Our dogs are living creatures and deserve to be respected as such. We are looking for our new owners to take responsible dog ownership to another level and accept your Exotic puppy into your home as a family member.

South African Boerboel puppies for sale. Really?

These days the South African Boerboel breed not what I thought it would be when I first began my path as a south african Boerboel breeder. The breed is going down the same path as the Cane Corso. backyard breeders popping up everywhere. I saw some one had bred what looked to be a 75 pound "boerboel". I thought that boerboels were big strong and muscular at least the breeding dogs i select must be. Right now there are just too many people looking to cash in on the big beautiful mastiff from South Africa.

This post is for the novice boerboel buyer. Forr the person who is just looking for a dog to love and love them back. Every "boerboel" is not a boerboel. The quality of the puppies is in the parents and the parents before them. What we must remember with these dogs is that the gene poole was very limited from the onset. Witht that being said we do not have many different bloodlines to choose from. So as breeders we must choose wisely.Being a breeder means that your breeding dogs are carefully selected. not just bred because you have a dog and so an so has a female dog so lets make some puppies.

Quality does not just happen by chance it is actively and diligently pursued. Not forget this on your quest uin looking for the real deal SAB's.

You want to breed Boerboel Dogs

Breeding South African boerboels is a monumental task. So much effort goes into a single litter of puppies books have been written on the subject. I decided to make make a check list for my readers to help us stay focused when there is a litter of South African Boerboel puppies to be cared for.

Before we even decide to breed south african boerboel puppies for sale we must ask ourselves some very serious questions. When want to be sure that we have the time energy and resources to properly care for the puppies and even more resources in case there is a problem.

After your resources are quantified and met. Then you must have a warm, secure, dry, area for mom to have puppies. This area should be nice and comfortable for mom and away from other dogs.

There are some universal principle in success. First thing you have to have is a clear cut goal. For a South African Boerboel dog breeder that would mean what is my mission long term and short term. What am I breeding for. What is the goal of type of dog that I am trying to produce. Set your eyes on the prize then focus all of your energy in the achieving your goal.

Only the best and most healthy specimens should qualify as breeding stock. Seek all the knowledge that you can find about the boerboel breed. Learn the risks in the breed. Find out what line are know for what if that info is available. Talk to some breeders find out what they are doing and are they happy with the results. Become all about what you need to be successful. Learn what other people who are successful in your field are doing. Study the best of the best and you will find they are experts in their chosen field knowing their subject like a book.

To breed boerboels you need to be very knowledgeable about the caring for dogs and puppies. There is much work involved and you still have to feed your dogs. We can only tell you the best ways we have found that work for us. Cleaning and good animal husbandry is the key to having healthy puppies and dogs.

Before you can have puppies health of your breeding stock is vital. If your male is not healthy when it is time to breed then he willl have a low sperm count. Full health means that the boerboel is not animal is not suffering from any infections recovering fromwoundshas a ggod healthy weight has can breed without any veterinary assistance. The idea is to have dogs that would be able to survive and breed in the wild and that takes a strong healthy dog.

Puppies puppies puppies....

The puppies are doing well. She delivered a total of Eleven. 6 males and 4 females survived. Today the eyes are starting to open. On the 3rd day the puppies had the tails docked. This is a healthy litter of boerboels and mom is doing excellent. She has plenty of milk and a very healthy appetite.

So far all of the puppies are thick and heavy boned. Real heavy heads and neck.Strong chest and shoulders. They all have really strong thick frames for puppies. You can see that these pups will be muscular and big. They are all real dense puppies. Looks like a litter full of Moe when he was a puppy.

A few boerboel puppies for sale

There are 5 breathe taking males with many wrinkles, big head strong black mask and deep red color. 4 of these puppies have strong pigment on the feet and chest indicating that these pups will be rich in color. The one male puppy is the runt who is just like his brothers but golden brown the mini version.

The are 2 extra large females, 1 large and 1 medium. The 2 xl females are the size of males. Look for more info and details on our website.

It is always exciting to have puppies on the ground. To watch them grow is delightful. I as the boerboel breeder have the luxury of seeing each puppy from birth into adult hood. I get to pick and choose good solid homes for all of my pups. It is really comforting to know that the dog is treated well and makes it owners very happy. This is what breeding boerboels is about. You only know when you have owned a boerboel. It is not your average dog. Boerboel owners know what I mean.
