Muscle Building Tips for Boerboels and Bullies

Your furry friend deserves the best care, and that includes helping them build and maintain strong, healthy muscles. Whether you have an athletic dog, a working breed, or just want to keep your canine companion in tip-top shape, this blog post is here to guide you on the path to canine muscle building success. Let's dive into these essential tips for unleashing the beast within your four-legged friend!

---

**1. Proper Nutrition**

Just like us, dogs need the right fuel to build and maintain muscles. Ensure your dog's diet includes high-quality protein sources, such as lean meats or a well-balanced commercial dog food that meets their specific needs. Consult your vet for dietary recommendations tailored to your dog's breed and activity level.

---

**2. Exercise and Play**

Regular exercise is key to muscle development. Engage in activities like fetch, agility training, or daily walks that provide both cardiovascular exercise and muscle-building opportunities. For more specific workouts, consider resistance training exercises like weighted backpacks or canine weight vests. Always start slow and consult with a veterinarian before beginning any new exercise regimen.

---

**3. Supplements**

Discuss with your vet whether supplements like glucosamine, omega-3 fatty acids, or muscle-building supplements are suitable for your dog's needs. Supplements can aid in joint health and muscle recovery, especially for active or older dogs.

---

**4. Rest and Recovery**

Muscles need time to repair and grow. Ensure your dog gets plenty of rest between workouts. Overtraining can lead to injury and hinder muscle development. A good night's sleep is just as important for your dog as it is for you!

---

**5. Hydration**

Proper hydration is essential for muscle function and recovery. Make sure your dog has access to fresh water at all times, especially during and after exercise.

---

**6. Consistency is Key**

Consistency is vital in any muscle-building journey. Stick to a routine, whether it's feeding, exercise, or supplements. Regularity will yield better results over time.

---

**7. Monitor Progress**

Keep an eye on your dog's progress. Take photos or measurements to track changes in muscle tone and overall fitness. Adjust their diet and exercise routine as needed to meet their goals.

---

**8. Veterinarian Guidance**

Always consult your veterinarian before starting a new exercise or diet plan for your dog. They can provide tailored advice based on your dog's age, breed, and health status.

---

**Conclusion**

Building and maintaining strong, healthy muscles in your dog is a rewarding journey that leads to a happier and more vibrant life. Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and what works best may vary depending on your dog's breed, age, and activity level. With proper nutrition, exercise, rest, and guidance from your vet, you can help your furry friend unleash their inner beast and enjoy a life filled with vitality and strength.

Raw Meat For Healthier Boerboel Dogs

Deciding to give beef ribs and lamb steaks to our African Boerboel puppies is one of the best decisions. As an African Boerboel breeder, we prioritize their health and food satisfaction. They need to eat foods that can make them healthier and physically fit.

Even though most people are unaware of the health benefits of eating raw lamb meat, they can't deny its delicious taste, which is also relatively healthy. A lamb is a prey animal that can still be a goat's family member. Raw lamb bone is a source of calcium an essential part of a healthy diet. Even if it is a raw lamb chop, or goat meat and bones.

While lamb chops are supple and soft, raw goat meat and raw bone is more challenging and more complex. When they are evaluated based on the benefits and advantages lamb and lamb meat share, because both have almost identical nutrients, this is the case.

 Nutrition benefits of lamb meat

  • High-Calorie (100 g = 206 calories)

  • 100 g of protein has 17.1 g of protein.

  • 100-gram calcium level of 10 mg.

  • 100 g of phosphorus equates to 1.91 mg.

  • Vitamin B1 (100 g = 0.15 mg) with Selenium (100 g = 7.0 mg)

  • Vitamin B2 (100 g = 0.2 mg).

  • B12 (100 g = 2.3 mg)

Boerboels Feeding

Boerboel puppies can be fed a raw food diet and do very well with it. Switching from regular dog food to a raw meat-based diet will provide a mix of healthier nutrients for your puppy and help them grow properly, and it will also keep your dog healthy and happy.

Boerboel puppies raw food diets should have more than 25% protein and 10% fat, and 12% bone. A comparable diet should be given to adult Boerboels, but with lower protein and bone content.

Boerboel puppies require a special raw food diet to meet their growing needs. It suggests enough nourishment as well as an appropriate balance of essential nutrients. During the first two years of a Boerboel's life, their nutrition should be considered puppy food.

Dietary Requirements

Boerboel Puppies must be fed raw food, which should include sources of minerals like calcium and phosphorus. However, prey animals' meat is rich in phosphorus but low in calcium. If you provided your puppy a diet of just meat, their bones and the neurological system would suffer. The calcium found in bones can be added to one's diet.

The Boerboel puppies need robust muscular systems, and they can achieve that by consuming plenty of protein. Roughly 27% of a pet's diet should be protein, while 12% should be bone. A diet should contain approximately 10% fat, which can be obtained in various meats. It would be best to consider buying lean meats because cheaper meats tend to have a more great fat content.

However, skinless boneless chickens, most fish, and wild animals are low in fat. While some lean ground beef is high in protein, the best protein for puppies is lean ground turkey.

Other helpful ways to help your Boerboel puppy grow include slowly adding various other organs to his diet, including the liver, kidney, spleen, and pancreas.

You can use uncooked produce to get more vitamins and nutrients, but it's not entirely required. Doing so will boost your dog's digestion and prevent cancer and other disorders.

This African dog breed should be given low-carb diets that do not include grains, peas, or potatoes because a high-fat weight gain can result.

If you forget, you should know that a meal doesn't need to be perfectly balanced, but your puppy's diet should be for a few days or weeks.

Food for Adult Boerboel

An adult giant dog breed diet should include meaty bones such as beef ribs, turkey neck and beef tail, and lamb steaks which make up one-third of the pet's food. The diet should contain about 12% to 15% bone and 25% protein.

An essential part of the diet is organ meat, and it's best if your pet has become used to it as a puppy. Don't feed just the liver; feed a variety of organs instead. Put about 10 to 30 percent of the meat in the organ, including kidney, spleen, brain, pancreas, thymus, or lung, in place. Sweetbreads are named for the pancreas and thymus.

Even with meat alone, you should be able to include enough fat. For the best health of your adult Boerboel dog, their diet should be comprised of between 10 percent and 20 percent fat. You might consider using leaner meats like ground beef, pork loin, skinless chicken, rabbit, fish, and wild game when avoiding saturated fats. It is commonly believed that duck, poultry skin, and regular ground beef are all overly fatty.

Including fruits and vegetables in their diet as puppies, Boerboels might be better off, but it is not a need for the overall health and happiness of the adult animal. Diseases can be reduced, and the digestive system can be improved. Adult Boerboels should avoid starchier meals like peas, potatoes, and grains to prevent weight gain and diabetes, even if they avoid treats.

When it comes to eating, you should choose a variety of balanced meals over a few days or a few weeks.

Dietary Requirements

Like puppies, adult Boerboels require calories, protein, and fat. Boerboels, however, needless of both. A Boerboel adult's diet should consist of roughly 25% protein and 10% fat.

As an adult dog, the ultimate goal of a healthy diet is to avoid becoming overweight and maintain an ideal weight. To determine if your dog is gaining too much weight, inspect its back. You can quickly locate the ribs by applying no pressure.

How Much Uncooked Food Should a Boerboel Puppy Receive?

Feeding healthy puppies the proper amounts of suitable types of food is essential in their diets. You should feed your dog on a timetable and avoid a free-feeding system. Your puppy should also be exercised often to keep them healthy and prevent them from gaining weight.

Simple, uncooked, and adult-friendly recipes

-Preparing Chicken and Carrots is a simple process, and it's great for elderly dogs.

-up to 50 percent chicken breasts and thighs

-about one-tenth to one-third of chicken organs (hearts, liver)

-11% to 14% chicken bone (ground)

-eggs, whether raw or lightly boiled, with shells, when from a farm

-from 5% to 20% carrots

-from 5% to 20% green beans

For large Boerboels, a supper of beef and greens is a great way to provide them with an excellent, nutritious balance.

-30% - 50% ground beef (all types), including low-fat

-beef organs, which range from 10 to 30 percent (hearts, liver)

-a range of 10% to 15% beef tail bones

-5% to 10% green apples

-a range of 5% to 10% collard greens

-anything from 5 percent to 20 percent kale

-freshly ground and fresh bones

Cooked Bone Remains The harder the bones are, the more likely they are to crack and this can result in shattered teeth or damage on their intestinal tract if thrown up afterward. Impressive but it takes effort to keep them healthy fit with plenty of love given at home by you! Witnessing our Boerboels in person gives us a chance to meet each other’s gaze before shaking hands as well as giving visitors an opportunity to take notice of how gorgeous these animals really are - so exotic boerboel dogs deserve only top homes

Think Of This

Veterinarians say that ingesting bones can lead to intestinal blockages that necessitate surgery. It is critical always to have a trained professional present to watch over the distribution of each bone and the fragmentation of any parts that may form. And if the dog refuses to give it to you, then just tell him to give it back, as you have already taught him the "give" command, right? It is always better to look for an alternative to a potentially harmful scenario, as this ensures your and your dog's best interests. We advise taking your pet to the local veterinarian if it has a medical emergency while eating.
