The Ohio Boerboel Story

Well Hello Every one I am Jordan Pittman the Boerboel guy. Many people ask me how did I get into breeding South African Boerboels. Or How did I get so involved in breeding dogs. Today I want to set the record straight. I have always had dogs in my life. It goes back to my families country roots. Where dogs were a necessity rather than a luxury.

My first dog was bear. He was a golden retreiver chow mix who me and my cousin Bam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bam_Childress got for free from the Westbrooks in here is East Cleveland.

We went where the Westbrooks were keeping the dogs and knocked at their door. When we knocked about 12 puppies came running from in the garage. No one ever came to the door so we just picked a puppy and put it in our book bag and went home after all they were free right?

When we got home we had to figure out what was our next move. As 11 year old kids we hadn't really thought this out. We came up with the plan to leave the puppy on our porch until it was time for Bam to go home, Then he would sneak the dog in the car without his mom finding out.

Our plan failed and bear was found by my mom on the porch. When my mom saw bear she fell in love with the cute golden puppy. "where did you get him?" my mom asked. "My friend gave him us for free." I said. My mom loved bear immediately. We were busted! What were we going to do with this puppy?

When my aunt Ween arrived she was dead set on us returning the dog. How could people just give kids a dog? she wondered. My aunt and my mom just couldn't get over how cute he was. He
"looks like a furbal, ...he s so cute" my aunt said.

Cousin Ike (Bam's Brother) convinced his mom that he could sell the dogs if nothing else they needed that dog. So they left with Bear.

I bet you are wondering " isn't bear your dog?" Tomorrow I will continue the story and you can find out how we ended up with bear. To be continued........
